Travel/Study credit courses offered by Seattle Community Colleges
Travel/Study courses provide students with an opportunity to earn credits for various travel/study experiences in an international setting. Students can earn credit for language enchancement, research-based or work/internship/volunteer activities. Because these are contract courses, students are charged a per-course fee.
It is also possible to arrange for independent study through the college.

Language Credit by Examination
Students may earn 5 or more quarterly credits in a variety of languages through Credit by Exam without prescribed study time or a formal language program. Contact the college for more detailed information about Credit by Exam. There are credit-hour fees involved, and a time limit after completing registration as a student at the college.
Washington Community College Consortium for Study Abroad (WCCCSA)
The Seattle Community College District participates in the Washington Community College Consortium for Study Abroad (WCCCSA). Seattle Community College students can join a quarter-long program in London, Florence, Costa Rica, South Africa and/or Spain through WCCCSA programs. Study Abroad program dates generally coincide with the start and end dates of the SCCD academic calendar. Courses taken through this program will show up on the student's Seattle Community College transcript.
Instructors from WCCCSA member colleges are selected to teach courses in the programs. Course offerings differ from year to year, but each program requires students to take language and/or culture courses which are taught by local instructors. Students from all three of our colleges are eligible, and can obtain further information and/or registration through one of the program coordinators:
