NOTE: In these programs, you will enroll in another institution's study abroad program. CCIS program credits will generally transfer back to the SCCD, as long as they appear on the transcript from an accredited US institution. For any non US-based program, please verify the transferability of credit with the credit evaluator in your college's registration office.
College Consortium for International Studies Students interested in studying abroad are strongly encouraged to join a College Consortium for International Studies program. CCIS offers semester programs in 30 countries and short term summer programs in 24 countries. The Seattle Community College District is one of hundreds of institutions, including a large number of community colleges, which refer students into these outstanding undergraduate programs. If you currently have financial aid, it will generally apply toward a full-time program abroad. The US-based college which is sponsoring the CCIS program will have an option to provide transcripts upon satisfactory completion of the program. These transcripts from the US-based (not from the foreign institution) sponsoring college should be brought to the registration office of your school for transfer credit. It is advised that you check in with the Transcript Evaluator in the Admissions office before you enroll in the program to ensure transferability of credits.
