South Seattle Community College

South Seattle Community College Child Care Center is a cooperative enterprise started in 1976 by SSCC students and administration. It is a state-certified, non-profit child care center organized to care for the children of SSCC students and Washington state employees and to provide them with a preschool experience including a variety of activities, play, rest and general guidance. Parents who attend school and/or work have many different facets to their lives. The care and safety of their child is one of their greatest concerns. The program strives to offer a safe and nurturing environment for children. The center is a place where children can develop positive attitudes about themselves and others, participate in age-appropriate learning experiences and opportunities, gain skills to deal with life situations and develop a knowledge about their world.

Seattle Central Community College

The Child Care Program at SCCC is concerned with developing the total child through social, intellectual, physical and emotional growth, while at the same time teaching good health habits. The Children Center is located in room BE1113 and is certified to care for children ages 18 months through 5 years old. Our teacher:children ratio is maintained at 1:10 or less for preschool age children 1:7 or less for toddlers. We strive to provide each child with the supportive environment in which to develop their skills and abilities. We encourage, stimulate, challenge, love and praise each child. The classroom programs emphasize the warmth and love due all children; the individual needs, interests, abilities and moods of the children are of prime importance.
